Sitting between King Street and John Dalton Street, in the former home of Grill on the Alley, Counter Manchester brings our take on familiar food to the heart of the city.

We’ve taken a well-known Manchester restaurant space and given it a new perspective — much like the food we serve.

The menu starts with dishes, flavours and ideas you’ll recognise, shaped by worldwide journeys, experiences and contemporary thinking. Nothing is complicated for the sake of it. Instead, familiar favourites are reworked, reimagined and sometimes given an unexpected twist.

The restaurant is designed to work around the city: somewhere for lunch, dinner, drinks at the bar or a longer evening with friends. Relaxed, energetic and without unnecessary formality, it’s a restaurant built for people to use however they want.
